avid J, solo musician and DJ as well
as member of such bands as Bauhaus and Love And Rockets,
has started performing his cover version of
Being boring as an encore on his performances in year 2000.
While David J’s minimalistic approach might remind of Merril Bainbridge’s
version, the resemblance is very remote, as both guitar and David’s
voice create a different, more melancholic and subdued texture for
the song.
The cover finally found its place among other renditions of Pet Shop Boys’ songs on 2001’s very interesting tribute album very introspective, actually. And once again as sort of an encore, being the last track on the CD.
