T he first ever live performance of Being boring took place on 22th November, 1990, in English TV programme Top of the Pops, which Pet Shop Boys appeared on many times to promote their latest singles. The version of the song Neil has lip-synced to was slightly shortened 7” mix (the performance ended after second chorus).

Neil later admitted to hating that particular appearance (“I remember we did Being boring on Top of the Pops and I thought we looked terrible”).

T he second live performance of Being boring aired on 26th November the same year on British TV channel BBC 2 (Dance Energy programme). Once again, the 7” mix was shortened, but this time edited to sound like as the third verse was never there.

A nother performance took place on Italian TV Rai Due, in a programme called Raffaella Da Due. Neil lip-synced to the whole 7” mix, wearing the same raincoat and glasses as on previous two shows.

F ourth performance promoting Being boring, the album Behaviour and the following year’s Performance tour was broadcasted by a German TV station MDR on a Saturday evening show called Ein Kessel Buntes. The version performed was a regular seven-inch mix.

P et Shop Boys also appeared live on Swedish show Bingo Lotto on TV4 on 23rd March, 2002. The songs performed were Home and dry and Being boring.

O n 10th April, 2002 Pet Shop Boys appeared on British TV show Jools Holland with a short setlist consisting of Home and dry, Being boring, Love is a catastrophe and West End girls.
