et Shop Boys did a one-off performance at the Heaven Nightclub in London
on 15th October, 1991. It was meant to celebrate the English premiere
of Derek Jarman’s movie, Edward II. Their former prodigee, Cicero, was
the supporting act, and the Pet Shop Boys along with J.J. Belle
performed a couple of songs, including It’s alright during
which the computers crashed, and the world premiere of Was it
worth it? The last song played was Being boring, in a mix
very similar to 7” version.

n 13th May, 1992, Pet Shop Boys performed at the Haçienda club in Manchester, USA. Once again it was connected with Derek Jarman, this time opening an exhibition of his paintings at Manchester City Art Gallery. J.J. Belle was also there, along with Sylvia Mason-James and Cicero. This time the gems were the new version of 1986’s Violence and the first take on their next year hit Go West. Being boring was played as a third track. | |||||||
he second-ever Pet Shop Boys festival appearance was Ruisrock festival in Turku, Finland on 29th June, 1997. Being boring was performed as the first track of the encore, followed by Go West. | |||||||
et Shop Boys headlined Stonewall’s Equality Show in London on 26th October,
1997 (they are said to have agreed at the last possible moment). The played a medley
of Sixteen going on seventeen (from The sound of music
musical), Being boring, Climb every mountain (as above),
Go West, finishing with cover of Tom Jones’ It’s
not unusual. Available for download are first two songs.

mall, four-concert Russian tour (two dates in Moscow and two dates in
St. Petersburg) began on 28th February, 1998. Each concert except the
second one featured the usual live version of Being boring.

nother one-off gig was at Creamfields Festival in United Kingdom on 28th August, 1999.
Being boring, along with some other tracks, received a special
treatment and was presented in a slightly changed, more clubby remix
with additional choirs.

n 28th April, 2000, Pet Shop Boys performed at the Equality Rocks festival
in Washington in USA. Although the highlight of the show was their cover of
Homosexuality by Modern Rocketry and What have I done to
deserve this? performed with Melissa Etheridge, Being boring
had its place in a short, five-song setlist (as the second song).

month after the end of short university tour, on 13th March, 2002, Pet
Shop Boys recorded a concert for British BBC Radio 2 on BBC Theatre. Being
boring topped the setlist of thirteen songs, performed for special guests,
fans and competition winners. Most of the songs were broadcasted on the radio
on 6th April, some of them (I get along, A red letter day
and Love comes quickly) later appeared on second CD single of I get along.

th April, 2002 has seen Pet Shop Boys performing a concert for France/German channel TV
Arte TV, moderated by Ray Cokes of MTV fame. The performance (which surprised fans
by the then fresh and rarely heard cover of Philadelphia) was broadcasted
7th May that year in the Planet Music 2Nite series.

n the middle of Release tour Pet Shop Boys performed in Madrid
on 12th June, 2002. The concert, called Concierto
Básico 40 was for Spanish radio (40 Principales) and TV (40tv).
It was later broadcasted by those media on 7th June, 2002. The setlist of
this concert was the same as on the following Release tour concert
in Barcelona, with Being boring coming right after introductory
Home and dry.
